What to Look For in a Baby Wipe Warmer
Heating technology. When it comes to heating wipes, each wipe warmer does the job a bit differently. Some use steam technology, while others maintain their temperature with an internal heating element. Models that use steam heat tend to keep wipes moist, and they often distribute heat more evenly. However, to prevent bacteria and mold buildup, you’ll need to replace the sponge at the bottom of these warmers every few months (or according to the manufacturer’s specific instructions).
Capacity. You’ll want to make sure that whichever baby wipe warmer you buy is compatible with the size of your go-to baby wipes. Plus, it should be able to hold a good amount of wipes for your convenience.
Night light element. Most wipe warmers are equipped with night lights which can add to a nursery’s soothing ambience—and help you see during middle-of-the-night diaper changes. If possible, look for a wipe warmer that allows you to shut the light off or dim it.
Portability. If you’re often out and about with baby, consider getting a portable wipe warmer. Keep in mind, though, that it won’t hold as many wipes as a typical at-home model.
